Our Detailed Analysis for APMOPS:
- APMOPS questions are classified into 10 main modules – Arithmetic, Algebra, Geometry, Number Theory, Counting Principles, Combinatorics, Number Pattern, Word Problems, Logic Problems and Puzzles. As APMOPS questions are more challenging, students will need to apply multiple techniques in order to solve APMOPS questions.
- Modules like Algebra, Arithmetic, Counting Principles, Number Theory and Geometry questions took up more than half the number of questions in the first round. Since Arithmetic questions are basic questions, they are also the type of questions, we want our students to strive to complete with accuracy. First round questions test largely on Arithmetic, Algebra, Counting Principles, Number Theory, and Geometry.
- Mastering the 5 main modules (Arithmetic, Algebra, Counting Principles, Number Theory, and Geometry) is essential for students to advance to Invitation Round due to the highly competitive nature of APMOPS.
